Who We Are
Dr. Ameriah Beam is a board-certified orthopedic specialist, with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology and a Doctorate of Chiropractic from University of Western States in Portland (whose alumni students are known for producing the highest board test scores). Upon completing her degree, she practiced in Washington and then California with Dr. Shamim Matin who is currently serving as a physician for the Olympic Games. Today, she specializes in non-surgical orthopedics in her clinic at Advanced Body Therapeutics.
Beam commonly treats frozen shoulders, rotator cuff disorders, headaches, sciatica, knee pain, and carpal tunnel.
Because of her background as a commercial fisherman and her personal experience with chronic pain, Dr. beam finds it especially rewarding to treat patients with debilitating conditions that have been told are ”permanent or surgical.” She has also studied the psychology of how these conditions change brain patterns and how different personalities perceive and process pain signals.
She performs a significant amount of graston therapy (scar tissue removal). Scar tissue is the result of traumatic injuries and repetitive microtrauma. The presence of scar tissue is the underlying cause to many musculoskeletal complaints but is often missed by many healthcare professionals.
Great treatment begins with excellence in diagnosis. Dr. Beam is diligent in identifying the pain generators through a complete assessment tailored to each person’s unique body. It is this discipline which has led her to help many patients avoid surgery, find alternative treatment, and experience an ease and freedom within their body that was previously not possible.
“I welcome the challenge and the puzzle,” she says.
What People Say About Us
Not only is Dr Beam extremely talented both in diagnosis and treatment, but she is kind, caring, and goes above and beyond for her patients. I had worked with many specialists both in San Diego and Northern CA for 3+ years before being fortunate enough to find Advanced Body Therapeutics. Now I am off pain medication and no longer need injections in my neck and back.
If I could give Dr. Beam ten stars, I would. She is always honest, kind, attentive, and tough as nails. Her goal is to get you healthy and never see you again, as opposed to collecting life time patients. She will find the problem and help fix it.
She provides a service that I have not found in 5+ years of addressing a chronic neck and back problem with every manner of doctor, acupuncturist, chiropractor, and pretty much anything/one else you can think of.
